Ann Donner Consulting (ADC) was a member of The Seebaldt Pilot (TSP) project team. TSP was the result of a 4-year community-driven partnership between the transdisciplinary design firm, studio[Ci], the grassroots community group, It Starts at Home (IS@H), and Detroit’s 48204 community.

The project focused on the opportunity to affordably acquire and activate concentrations of publicly owned (DLBA) vacant parcels for generative infrastructure: energy, water, food production, waste, and mobility.

TSP pilots a unique solar technology, the multifunctional Hybridized Net Zero Energy (HNZE) Canopy, with the goal of generating and distributing solar power for electricity to the community through an energy cooperative.

TSP’s comprehensive, sustainable community plan was awarded the First Place Gold prize for North America from the LefargeHolcim Foundation and received the Bronze prize in the Global award competition. The Foundation recognizes innovative projects and future-oriented concepts – and is the most significant global competition for sustainable design.
